The Provincial Government of Lampung is supporting outstanding student Riski Muhammad Ivan from MAN 1 Bandarlampung to participate in a cyber security conference in the United States, as part of efforts to strengthen digital talent development.

Lampung Governor Rahmat Mirzani Djausal stated that the provincial government continues to encourage regional digital talent development by providing support to Riski Muhammad Ivan, enabling him to attend the prestigious Black Hat USA 2026 cyber security conference, scheduled to take place in Las Vegas this August.

He noted that Riski Muhammad Ivan has achieved distinction in the cyber security field through a Bug Bounty Programme, successfully identifying several security vulnerabilities on digital platforms, including those belonging to Microsoft and NASA, which were subsequently reported via responsible disclosure mechanisms.

“Cyber security is a profession that will be increasingly needed in the future. Therefore, this skill must continue to be honed, as its potential is enormous,” said Governor Rahmat Mirzani. “Those who can master technology, such as AI, create scripts, and develop machine learning, will have an advantage in facing future challenges.”

According to him, mastery of future technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, programming, and digital system development will be a key factor in enhancing the competitiveness of human resources, particularly in the regions. “We hope that Riski’s achievements can inspire the younger generation of Lampung to continue learning, innovating, and developing competencies in the field of digital technology,” the governor added.

Riski Muhammad Ivan explained that his interest in cyber security began with a hobby of learning programming independently. “I actively studied various programming languages and system security testing techniques through YouTube, various platforms, and cyber security communities,” he said. His contributions to cyber security through the Bug Bounty programme, which led to the discovery of several security vulnerabilities, earned him an invitation to attend Black Hat USA 2026. The conference is one of the most prestigious international events, bringing together practitioners, researchers, and cyber security experts from various countries.
