Lampung Provincial Government Supports 2026 Economic Census, Urges Public Participation

The Provincial Government of Lampung has declared its full support for the 2026 Economic Census as a strategic step to provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date economic data to strengthen regional development planning. Governor Rahmat Mirzani Djausal stressed that quality development must begin with the availability of valid data. He noted that without complete and correct data, it is difficult to make appropriate decisions or formulate targeted policies. The Governor made this commitment during a joint commitment ceremony and readiness parade for the 2026 Economic Census held at the Korpri Field, Governor’s Office Complex, on Saturday. According to Rahmat, the Economic Census plays a crucial role in capturing a comprehensive picture of the regional economy. The resulting data will serve as the basis for formulating more effective, inclusive, and sustainable economic development policies. He assessed that Lampung Province possesses significant economic potential across various sectors, including agriculture, plantations, fisheries, industry, trade, tourism, and millions of micro, small, and medium enterprises that are the main drivers of the regional economy. Rahmat stated that the success of development is measured not only by high economic growth but also by the extent to which the community benefits through job creation, increased income, and stronger people’s businesses. He invited all elements of society to support the census so that Lampung’s entire economic potential can be fully documented. The Governor also expressed appreciation to all field officers who will be the frontliners of the 2026 Economic Census, urging them to carry out their duties professionally, with integrity, and to provide friendly and humane service to the public. Head of Statistics Indonesia Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti appreciated the Lampung Provincial Government’s full support for the census. She likened the economic census to a medical check-up for the economy, producing accurate data as a basis for policy formulation, investment development, and business empowerment. Amalia also called on the public to actively participate by providing correct information, as every piece of data collected will be a crucial foundation for designing policies aimed at improving public welfare. She also motivated the 8,619 field officers who will be deployed across 15 regencies and cities in Lampung Province, referring to them as ‘data warriors’ who hold a key role in determining the success of the census.
