Lampung Provincial Government Records Positive Development Performance

Deputy Governor of Lampung, Jihan Nurlela, affirmed that the commemoration of the province’s 62nd anniversary serves as a momentum to reaffirm the direction of development towards an advanced, competitive, and economically sovereign region.

“Lampung must stand as a province that is advanced, competitive, and economically sovereign. The various achievements we have attained today are the result of collaboration among all parties and must continue to be pursued,” stated Deputy Governor Jihan Nurlela during the Special Plenary Session.

The Special Plenary Session of the Lampung Provincial DPRD was held in commemoration of the 62nd anniversary, taking place at the DPRD Provincial Lampung meeting room on Tuesday, 31 March 2026. The event was attended by Forkopimda officials, regents/mayors, academics, customary leaders, and community representatives.

The event proceeded festively with a cultural atmosphere. It began with the Sigeh Penguten dance performed by students from SMA Negeri 10 Bandar Lampung, followed by a performance of a regional song by Intan Putri, the 2025 Indonesian Dangdut Contest winner from Lampung. Other cultural performances, such as the Tari Tuah Payan Tuha dance and a video montage of the history of Lampung Province’s establishment, also enlivened the occasion.

In her presentation, Deputy Governor Jihan conveyed Lampung’s development achievements showing positive trends. Lampung’s economic growth in 2025 reached 5.28 per cent, exceeding the Sumatra average of 4.81 per cent.

Additionally, the poverty rate was successfully reduced to a single digit for the first time in the last 40 years, at 9.66 per cent in September 2025. The Human Development Index (HDI) also increased to 73.98 points, entering the high category.

In the field of government governance, the Lampung Provincial Government achieved a Very Good (BB) predicate in the Government Performance Accountability System (SAKIP), and recorded itself as the province with the highest quality of public services nationally.

In the infrastructure sector, throughout 2025, repairs were carried out on 52 provincial road sections spanning 66.2 kilometres and 21 bridges. The condition of stable roads improved from 78.81 per cent to 79.79 per cent, while road degradation was significantly reduced.

Village development programmes were also continuously strengthened, including the provision of 34 bed dryer units in 34 villages to reduce harvest losses, as well as the distribution of 500 liquid biofertiliser production centres to 190,000 farmers.

In the education sector, the government eliminated committee fees for high school/vocational students, targeting zero school dropout rates, and opened international job access through the Japanese migrant vocational class programme, which has been joined by 93 schools.

Meanwhile, in the health sector, equitable service distribution continues to be enhanced, including through the free health check programme, which placed Lampung in ninth place nationally.

Deputy Governor Jihan also reaffirmed the region’s commitment to supporting national programmes, such as free nutritious meals and the construction of people’s schools. These programmes have reached 2.8 million beneficiaries with the potential for economic circulation of Rp12.1 trillion per year in Lampung Province.

On that occasion, the handover of the Intellectual Property Rights for the Siger Tower architecture from Anshori Djausal to the Lampung Provincial Government was also conducted, received by the Deputy Governor. In addition, the Deputy Governor presented awards to five regencies receiving 12 certificates for Indonesian Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2025.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Lampung Provincial DPRD, Ahmad Giri Akbar, in his remarks, stated that Lampung’s 62-year journey is the result of the long struggle of predecessors. He emphasised the importance of collaboration among all elements to continue regional development.

“Collaboration between government, society, and the business world is the key to continuously improving public welfare and realising a more advanced Lampung,” said Giri.

The plenary session concluded with a group photo and the cutting of tumpeng as a symbol of gratitude for Lampung Province’s 62-year journey.
