Lampung Police Arrest Two Suspects in Armed Robbery Case Involving Police Officer
The Lampung Police have successfully arrested two suspects in an armed robbery case that resulted in the death of a police officer, Bripka Arya Supena.
“The two suspects we have arrested are HAM and RON. They were arrested in two different locations, namely in East Lampung for HAM and in Pesawaran for RON,” said Lampung Police Chief Irjen Pol Helfi Assegaf at the Lampung Police Headquarters, Friday.
He explained that during the arrest by the Joint Team of the Lampung Police, the suspect HAM actively resisted, posing a danger to the officers, so the police took firm and measured action.
He explained that both suspects are those who carried out the theft and aggravated robbery which resulted in Bripka Arya Supena’s death while trying to thwart their actions at a store in Bandarlampung.
“So, HAM was the one who prepared the vehicle and RON was the executor or the person who carried out the action by breaking the victim’s motorcycle lock during the incident,” he said.
The Police Chief explained that before carrying out their actions, the two suspects toured the city of Bandarlampung to determine the target or target of the motorized vehicles to be stolen.
Then, he continued, the suspect RON tried to escape, causing a struggle and the firearm of Bripka was taken by the suspect and fired at the head of the police officer.
“After the incident, both of them fled to HAM’s house. Then they buried Bripka Anumerta’s firearm, and RON fled to Pesawaran,” he said.
On Saturday (9/5), a shooting occurred against Bripka Arya Supena which resulted in the death of the police officer by two motorcycle theft suspects on Jalan ZA Pagaralam, Bandarlampung City.
