Character building and healthy living habits in children cannot be achieved instantly; they must be cultivated from an early age through the example set by parents at home and educators at school.

This was emphasised by the Chair of Early Childhood Education (PAUD) for Lampung Province, Purnama Wulan Sari Mirza, during the ‘Gerakan Makan Tanpa Drama’ (Eating Without Drama Movement) and joint exercise event for ‘Anak Indonesia Hebat’ (Great Indonesian Children), initiated by Kalbe Consumer Health through Sakatonik ABC together with the Indonesian Kindergarten Teachers Association (IGTKI) of Lampung Province.

In an atmosphere full of joy and enthusiasm from thousands of kindergarten children, she conveyed the importance of the active role of parents in creating a healthy, active and happy environment for growth and development.

“Today we are all gathered, not just to exercise together or have fun, but also to build and accustom our children to keep moving. In today’s terms, don’t be ‘mager’, don’t be lazy to move,” she said at Lapangan Korpri, Bandar Lampung, on Thursday (20/8/2026).

She underlined that getting children accustomed to being physically active is a long-term health investment. She reminded teachers and parents to consistently encourage children to exercise through enjoyable activities such as gymnastics and healthy walks.

“This joint exercise activity is one of our efforts together with IGTKI to always invite our beloved children to exercise regularly at their respective kindergartens, starting with gymnastics and healthy walks,” she added.

However, she reminded that before starting physical activity, children’s physical readiness must always be considered. Ensuring that children have received nutritious food, good nutritional intake and adequate rest time is an absolute requirement before they are invited to be active.

According to her, teachers and parents play a key role in overseeing children’s golden age. Awareness of healthy living must be fostered from the family and school environment from an early age.

“Early childhood is the main foundation for children’s growth and development. Health and character development does not start when they enter junior high school, but is actually cultivated from kindergarten age within the home and school,” she added.

In addition to physical activity, she also emphasised the importance of nutrition and sleep patterns. She appreciated the government’s support through the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme, which greatly helps fulfil the nutritional needs of young children at school. However, the success of children’s growth and development requires balance in all aspects of daily life.

“The main key is balance. Eating, sleeping, playing and learning must all be balanced,” she explained.

Lastly, she expressed her appreciation to all kindergarten teachers and educators throughout Lampung Province who have taught with great patience. She advised that the approach to educating young children should always prioritise gentleness and affection.

“I am certainly very grateful to all kindergarten teachers in Lampung Province who have educated young children, who have looked after and given affection to kindergarten children. Of course, we can no longer educate our children harshly. Children must be educated gently,” she concluded.

Meanwhile, Kalbe Consumer Health, through its Sakatonik ABC Curcuma Madu brand, continues to be committed to supporting government programmes in preparing the Golden Generation 2045. Ahead of the 100th anniversary of Indonesia’s independence, ensuring children’s nutrition from an early age is the main key to producing a healthy and intelligent generation.

Head of Vitamin Category at Kalbe Consumer Health, Revi Octaria, explained that optimal nutritional fulfilment begins with children’s daily food intake. However, the problem of children who are difficult to feed, or GTM (Gerakan Tutup Mulut – refusing to eat), is often the main obstacle for mothers.

“We know that 2045 is the golden generation, when Indonesia’s independence reaches 100 years. How can Sakatonik ABC support the coming generation in terms of nutrition? Nutrition certainly primarily comes from the food consumed,” said Revi.

As a form of concrete commitment, Sakatonik ABC is promoting the ‘Gerakan Makan Tanpa Drama’ campaign. Through this activity, the company introduced a practical appetite-boosting solution in the form of lozenges, which is the first innovation in its category.

“If food intake is hampered because children have no appetite, Sakatonik ABC Curcuma Madu comes as a solution so that children have a good appetite, so there is no drama (over eating) between mother and child,” she explained.
