Lampung launches PM-AAS planting movement with 1,000-hectare weekly target
Bandarlampung (ANTARA) - The Head of the Lampung Agricultural Assembly and Modernisation Agency (BRMP), Endro Gunawan, stated that the Advanced Agriculture System (PM-AAS) planting movement is targeted to reach 1,000 hectares within one week in Lampung.
“This PM-AAS rice planting movement is a follow-up to the expansion of the PM-AAS programme, which was previously implemented on a 100-hectare denfarm in Central Lampung Regency,” said the Head of BRMP Lampung, Endro Gunawan, in Metro on Wednesday.
He noted that production results from the PM-AAS denfarm in Central Lampung Regency averaged 11.2 tonnes of harvested dry grain (GKP) per hectare.
“This represents an increase in productivity from an average of 5.2 tonnes per hectare to a minimum of 10 tonnes per hectare of harvested dry grain,” he said.
“The planting movement in Lampung involves all regencies and cities, with a target of 1,000 hectares to be achieved within this week. Today, the PM-AAS planting movement is being carried out in Metro City covering 400 hectares,” he added.
According to him, the PM-AAS planting target for the July-December 2026 period is set at 35,100 hectares.
“September 30th marks the final day of the third planting season, as the first planting season for 2026-2027 begins tomorrow, 1st October. This is a major leap following the Minister of Agriculture’s programme to increase productivity, which was previously stagnant at 5.2 tonnes and can now reach 10 tonnes per hectare,” he added.
