Bandarlampung (ANTARA) - The Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati) is optimising the resolution of general crime cases through a restorative justice mechanism. “In 2025, the resolution of cases through this mechanism reached 136 cases. Meanwhile, up to July 2026, 52 cases have been realised,” said Head of Public Relations of the Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office, Ricky Ramadhan, in Bandarlampung on Wednesday. He stated that the implementation of restorative justice by the Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office does not stop merely at the cessation of prosecution. Suspects who meet the requirements for resolution through this mechanism are also provided with work skills training, as well as guidance and counselling services in cooperation with the local Regional General Hospital (RSUD). On the other hand, he said that up to July 2026, thousands of cases have been handled from the investigation stage to execution, accompanied by the strengthening of restorative justice implementation, which not only halts prosecution but also ensures social recovery for the offenders. “The General Crimes Division of the Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office, together with all District Prosecutor’s Offices throughout Lampung, recorded that during the reporting period, 2,759 Notifications of Commencement of Investigation (SPDP) were received. Of that number, case file reviews (pre-prosecution) have been conducted on 2,701 cases,” he said. He continued that 2,062 cases entered Phase I and 2,198 cases were transferred to Phase II as part of the prosecution process. He added that the Prosecutor’s Office has also carried out 1,701 executions of cases that have permanent legal force (inkracht) and 1,206 executions of evidence in accordance with court rulings. “In order to maintain legal certainty and fulfil the public’s sense of justice, the General Crimes Division also pursued 156 appeals and 96 cassations against rulings deemed not to have met the sense of justice or applicable legal provisions,” he said.
