Lampung High Prosecutor's Office Designates Former Governor as Suspect in 10% PI Corruption Case
Bandarlampung - The Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office has designated Arinal Djunaidi, Governor of Lampung Province for the period 2019–2024, as a suspect in the alleged corruption case concerning the management of funds from the 10% “participating interest” (PI) in the Offshore South East Sumatra working area (WK OSES), valued at US$17.286 million.
Lampung Chief Prosecutor Danang Suryo Wibowo stated in Bandarlampung on Tuesday that the suspect designation was made after the investigation team found at least two sufficient pieces of evidence.
The 10% Participating Interest (PI) represents the maximum 10% ownership right that must be offered by oil and gas cooperation contract contractors (KKKS) to regional or state-owned enterprises (BUMD or BUMN).
“Based on the examination results and case exposure, two sufficient pieces of evidence have been found, thus designating Mr ARD as a suspect,” he said.
He explained that the case relates to alleged corruption in the management of the 10% PI funds in the offshore Sumatra working area, with a value reaching US$17.286 million.
Danang stated that Arinal Djunaidi has been charged under Article 603 of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 18 of Law No. 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001, in conjunction with Article 20 letter c of the Criminal Code.
Subsidiary: Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law No. 31 of 1999 as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001, in conjunction with Article 20 letter c of the Criminal Code.
“The Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office reaffirms its commitment to handling the case objectively, professionally, upholding the values of justice and human rights,” he said.
Furthermore, he added, the prosecutor’s office also opens opportunities for the public to monitor the legal process, including reporting any suspected violations by law enforcement officials.
Former Governor Arinal Djunaidi arrived to comply with the summons from the Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office at 10:00 WIB and left at 21:16 WIB wearing a pink vest.
Arinal, under tight escort by the Indonesian Army (TNI AD) and prosecutor’s officials, was immediately taken to a detention vehicle to be transported to Wai Hui Penitentiary.
The Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati) had previously examined ARD on 18 December 2025 regarding the alleged criminal act of corruption in the management of 10% PI funds in the Offshore South East Sumatra working area (WK OSES), valued at US$17.286 million.
The Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office had also searched Arinal’s home on Wednesday (3/9) and seized several assets related to the case, with a total value of approximately Rp38 billion.
