Lampung High Prosecutor Monitors Free Nutritious Meals to Ensure Food Quality
The Prosecutor’s Office is also examining several measures to strengthen the implementation of the MBG programme.
Bandarlampung (ANTARA) - The Head of the Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office (Kajati), Danang Suryo Wibowo, directly inspected the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme in Tanggamus Regency, Lampung, to ensure food quality while also encouraging the local economic turnover.
“This activity is a follow-up to the instruction of the President of the Republic of Indonesia that all stakeholders take part in safeguarding the implementation of this national priority programme,” Danang said in a statement in Bandarlampung on Wednesday.
He noted that the Prosecutor’s Office’s oversight is focused not only on administrative aspects, but also on the effectiveness of implementation on the ground, so that the programme’s benefits can be optimally felt by the community.
The Prosecutor’s Office, he continued, is also examining several measures to strengthen the implementation of the MBG programme.
In addition, the Prosecutor’s Office is monitoring the food raw material supply chain to prioritise commodities from local businesses, such as Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM), the Merah Putih Cooperative, and Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes).
Danang added that through this step, the MBG programme is expected to deliver a multiplier effect, namely improving the nutritional quality of students while also boosting the economic turnover of communities in Tanggamus Regency.
“The synergy of oversight between the regional government and the Prosecutor’s Office is expected to maintain the accountability of this strategic national programme, so that the targets of improving human resource quality and strengthening the regional economy can be achieved,” Danang added.
During the MBG monitoring visit, three locations were inspected: SD Negeri 1 Way Jaha, the Sukajadi Pugung Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) kitchen, and Madrasah Aliyah Al-Falah in Pekon Gunung Kasih, Pugung District.
At these locations, the head of the Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office and his team reviewed the entire food preparation process, from kitchen hygiene and food ingredient quality through to the serving of meals to the students.
