Lampung High Prosecutor Monitors Free Nutritious Meals to Ensure Food Quality

The Head of the Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office (Kajati), Danang Suryo Wibowo, has directly inspected the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme in Tanggamus Regency, Lampung, to ensure food quality while encouraging local economic turnover. Danang stated that this activity is a follow-up to the President of the Republic of Indonesia’s directive for all stakeholders to oversee the implementation of this national priority programme. He mentioned that the prosecutor’s office’s supervision is not only focused on administrative aspects but also on the effectiveness of field implementation so that the programme’s benefits can be optimally felt by the community. The prosecutor’s office is also reviewing a number of measures to strengthen the implementation of the MBG programme. Additionally, the office is monitoring the food raw material supply chain to ensure it prioritises commodities from local business actors, such as Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Koperasi Merah Putih, and Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes). Danang added that through this step, the MBG programme is expected to have a multiplier effect, improving the nutritional quality of students while simultaneously boosting the local economy in Tanggamus Regency. He expressed hope that the supervisory synergy between the regional government and the prosecutor’s office would maintain the accountability of this strategic national programme, so that the targets of improving human resources quality and strengthening the regional economy can be achieved. During the MBG monitoring, visits were made to three locations: SD Negeri 1 Way Jaha, the SPPG Sukajadi Pugung Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit Kitchen, and Madrasah Aliyah Al-Falah in Pekon Gunung Kasih, Pugung District. At these locations, the Lampung High Prosecutor and his team thoroughly inspected the food provision process, from kitchen hygiene and food ingredient quality to the serving of meals to the students.
