Lampung Hajj Office Reports Eight Pilgrims Cancel Trip to Holy Land

Bandar Lampung (ANTARA) - The Provincial Office of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (KemenHaj) in Lampung has stated that eight prospective hajj pilgrims from the province will not be travelling to the Holy Land during this year’s hajj season.

“Eight prospective hajj pilgrims who have cancelled their departure are from Central Lampung Regency with three people, North Lampung with two people, Way Kanan with two people, and one from Pesawaran,” said the Head of the Lampung KemenHaj Office, M. Ansori F Citra, in Bandar Lampung on Tuesday.

He explained that the eight prospective hajj pilgrims who cancelled their trips did so due to various factors, such as passing away, illness, and other reasons.

“This year, a total of eight people have cancelled their departure. They are spread across several flight groups (kloter), such as kloter 8, kloter 9, kloter 15, kloter 18, and kloter 19,” he said.

He stated that KemenHaj had actually offered to transfer the slots to heirs to replace the deceased prospective pilgrims, but some of them stated they were not yet ready to depart for the Holy Land.

He also conveyed that the Lampung KemenHaj Office has submitted a process for cancelling visas for the eight individuals. This is being done because their positions cannot be filled by reserve pilgrims or heirs in a short time.

“Therefore, it is most likely that they will be sent off during next year’s hajj season under the inheritance transfer scheme for those who have passed away,” he said.

If the heirs cannot depart next year, they can apply to withdraw the Hajj Travel Worship Fee (BPIH) that has already been paid.

“The main point is that they will still be prioritised next year if they are ready, or the money that has been paid can be refunded,” he said.

Lampung’s hajj quota this year totals 5,827 people, divided into 14 kloters.
