Lampung Governor Welcomes New National Nutrition Agency Leadership, Ready to Support Free Nutritious Meal Programme
Rahmat Mirzani has stated that he will fully support the new leadership at the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). He expressed hope that under the new Head of the BGN, the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme can become more efficient, optimal, and broadly beneficial to the public.
“The community needs programmes that run effectively, are precisely targeted, and provide real benefits. We hope that various obstacles encountered so far can be promptly addressed so that the grand objective of the MBG—to improve the nutritional quality of Indonesian children—can be better achieved,” he stated in a written release on Wednesday (3/6/2026).
This statement was made in response to information from a Palace press briefing delivered by the Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi. Rahmat Mirzani noted that various inputs, aspirations, and evaluations arising during the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal programme must be taken into account to refine the programme’s governance. According to him, through communication and coordination between the central and regional governments, various issues can be identified and resolved quickly and accurately.
He emphasised that the Lampung Provincial Government will continue to support the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal programme as part of the effort to improve the quality of Indonesia’s human resources. He noted that synergy between central and regional governments is key to ensuring the programme’s benefits are felt widely by the community.
“Ultimately, the main goal is to ensure that government programmes can run optimally, are precisely targeted, and provide the greatest possible benefit to the people. We are ready to synergise and support various improvement measures undertaken for the success of the Free Nutritious Meal programme,” he concluded.
For information, during the statement at the Palace, the Minister of State Secretary was accompanied by the Cabinet Secretary, Teddy Indra Wijaya, and the Head of the Government Communications Agency (Bakom), Muhammad Qodari, regarding President Prabowo Subianto’s decision to appoint the Deputy Head of the BGN, Nanik S. Deyang, as the new Head of the BGN, replacing Dadan Hindayana. Previously, Nanik S. Deyang had served as the Deputy Head of the BGN since September 2025 and has been involved in strengthening the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal programme in various regions.
