Lampung Governor Inspects Road Project, Emphasises Quality and Multi-Layered Supervision

Lampung Governor Rahmat Mirzani Djausal personally inspected the progress of repair works on the provincial road along the Gunung Sugih–Kota Gajah section in Central Lampung Regency on Friday (17/7). The visit was carried out to ensure that infrastructure development is accelerating optimally and meets the established quality standards.

The road repair uses a rigid concrete structural method, with a total treatment length of 600 metres. The works are divided into two segments, each measuring 300 metres long and 6 metres wide.

During the inspection, Rahmat Mirzani said the road repair represents the government’s fulfilment of its commitment to the aspirations of local residents, who have faced mobility problems for more than a decade due to road damage and flooding.

“This follows my review of the Gunung Sugih–Kota Gajah road repair, which residents have been awaiting for over a decade because of frequent flooding, road damage and so on,” Rahmat Mirzani said in a statement on Friday (17/7/2026).

He further affirmed that the Lampung Provincial Government will enforce a strict, layered supervision mechanism at every phase of construction. This is intended to guarantee that the output of the budget absorption genuinely delivers long-term benefits to the community.

“We will certainly monitor every stage, every step of the works properly. We are ensuring the quality is carried out well and the system works well,” he asserted.

On the occasion, he also reminded all stakeholders involved on the ground of the importance of professionalism and integrated performance. He asked the Lampung Provincial BMBK Agency and all service provider partners to carry out their functions with discipline in accordance with the contractual framework.

“There are contractors carrying out the works, supervisors monitoring, consultants planning, and public works as the project owner, all working according to the system, the scheme, and their respective duties. I am confident that if this runs well, with everyone serious and watching, it will produce the best possible work,” he added.

Furthermore, Rahmat Mirzani stated that all project implementers have united behind a vision of delivering road infrastructure of the highest quality without compromise.

“And everyone agrees that all work at these points must be the best there has ever been,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, a local resident, Lukman Sani, expressed deep appreciation for the Lampung Provincial Government’s tangible commitment to accelerating regional infrastructure development and maintaining stable agricultural commodity prices. He conveyed gratitude for Rahmat Mirzani’s leadership, which he considered highly protective of the community.

“A first in history as Governor. Excellent. A governor who cares for the people. Truly, because cassava that was just over 1,000 has now reached 2,300, Governor. Thank you,” Lukman said enthusiastically when greeting the Governor at the inspection site.

In response, Rahmat Mirzani held a warm dialogue about the harvest and the livelihoods of local residents, the majority of whom depend on cassava farming. The Provincial Government remains committed to safeguarding the trade arrangements of the region’s flagship commodity so that farmers’ welfare is maintained at an ideal level.

Lukman Sani then described the dire conditions residents previously endured before the government’s intervention. The route was known as a hazard and frequently impeded residents’ economic mobility.

“Oh, the road was wrecked. Sometimes there were even fatalities and accidents here,” he said, recounting the road’s history of damage.

At the end of the dialogue, a cordial atmosphere prevailed as Rahmat Mirzani promised to visit the residents’ settlement again when the road is formally inaugurated.

In response to the promise, Lukman offered his best wishes for the continuity of the government’s development programmes.

“Yes, thank you, Governor, thank you. I pray that you become the most successful governor of all,” he said.
