Lampung Governor Inspects Road Project, Emphasises Quality and Multi-Layered Supervision

Lampung Governor Rahmat Mirzani Djausal directly inspected the progress of provincial road repairs on the Gunung Sugih - Kota Gajah section in Central Lampung Regency on Friday (17/7). The move aims to ensure the acceleration of infrastructure development runs optimally and meets established quality standards. The road repair uses a rigid concrete structure method, with the total length of the works reaching 600 metres. The project is divided into two segments, each measuring 300 metres in length and 6 metres in width. During the inspection, Rahmat Mirzani stated that the road repair fulfils the government’s commitment to the aspirations of the local community, who have faced mobility constraints for over a decade due to road damage and flooding. “This follows an inspection of the Gunung Sugih - Kota Gajah road repair, which the community has been hoping for over a dozen years because of frequent flooding, road damage, and so on,” said Rahmat Mirzani. He also asserted that the Lampung Provincial Government will implement a strict and multi-layered supervision mechanism at every phase of construction. This is to guarantee that the output from this budget absorption truly provides long-term utility for the community. “We will certainly supervise it properly and correctly at every stage, every phase of the work. We are ensuring the quality is executed well and the system works properly,” he stressed. On that occasion, he also reminded all stakeholders involved in the field of the importance of professionalism and integrated performance. He requested that the Lampung Provincial Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency, together with all service provider partners, carry out their functions with discipline in accordance with the contractual corridor. “There is a contractor executing the work, a supervisor observing, a consultant planning, and the Public Works Department as the project owner working according to the system, the scheme, and their respective tasks. I am confident that if this can run well, with everyone serious and observant, it will produce the best work,” he added. Furthermore, Rahmat Mirzani stated that all project implementing elements have united a vision to deliver road infrastructure of prime quality without compromise. “And everyone agrees that all work at these points must be the best work ever produced,” he concluded. Meanwhile, a local resident, Lukman Sani, expressed high appreciation for the provincial government’s tangible commitment to accelerating regional infrastructure development and stabilising agricultural commodity prices. He voiced gratitude for Rahmat Mirzani’s leadership, which he considers very protective of the community. “A record throughout history as Governor. Excellent. A Governor who protects the people. Truly, because cassava rose from around 1,000 to now 2,300, Mr. Governor. Thank you,” said Lukman enthusiastically while greeting the Governor at the inspection site. Responding to this, Rahmat Mirzani engaged in a warm dialogue about the harvest yields and livelihoods of local residents, the majority of whom depend on the cassava plantation sector. The provincial government remains committed to maintaining the trading system for the region’s leading commodity so that farmers’ welfare is kept at an ideal level. Lukman Sani then described the dire conditions previously experienced by residents before the government’s repair intervention. The route was known to be hazardous and frequently hampered residents’ economic mobility. “Oh, the road was destroyed, Sir. Sometimes there were often fatalities here, accidents,” he said, explaining the history of the previous road damage. At the end of the dialogue, the atmosphere of familiarity was increasingly evident when Rahmat Mirzani promised to revisit the residential area specifically when the road is formally inaugurated. Responding to the promise, Lukman offered his best prayers for the sustainability of the government’s development programme. “Yes, thank you, Mr. Governor, thank you.
