Lampung Governor Calls on Public to Support 2026 Economic Census
The Provincial Government of Lampung has pledged full support for the national 2026 Economic Census. Governor Rahmat Mirzani Djausal affirmed this commitment during a rally and joint commitment strengthening event for the census at the Korpri Field, Lampung Governor’s Office, on Saturday, 27 June 2026. According to the Governor, the 2026 Economic Census plays a vital role in comprehensively capturing the region’s economic conditions. The resulting data will serve as the basis for formulating more effective, inclusive, and sustainable economic development policies. “We all realise that quality and targeted development begins with accurate data. Without complete and correct data, it is difficult for us to make decisions or formulate targeted policies,” the Governor stated. He added that Lampung Province possesses significant economic potential across various sectors, from agriculture, plantations, and fisheries to industry, trade, tourism, and millions of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that are the main drivers of the regional economy. He noted that development success is measured not only by high economic growth but also by the extent to which the public benefits through job creation, increased income, and stronger people’s businesses. The Governor called on all elements of society to support the census so that all of Lampung’s economic potential can be fully documented. He also expressed appreciation for all field officers who will be the frontline of the 2026 Economic Census, advising them to carry out their duties professionally, with integrity, and to provide friendly and humane service to the public. Meanwhile, the Head of Statistics Indonesia (BPS), Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, appreciated the Lampung Provincial Government’s commitment and full support for the census. She described the economic census as an important instrument for understanding the real conditions of the national and regional economy, likening it to a medical check-up or medical record of the economy that will produce accurate data as a basis for development policy, investment development, and business empowerment. She also invited the entire community to actively participate by providing correct data, as every piece of information collected will form an important foundation for designing policies that can improve public welfare. Amalia also motivated the 8,619 Economic Census 2026 officers who will serve in 15 districts/cities across Lampung Province, calling them ‘data warriors’ who hold a key role in determining the success of the census. Through synergy between the government, BPS, the public, and all field officers, the 2026 Economic Census is expected to produce quality economic data as a foundation for realising more inclusive, sustainable, and targeted economic development in Lampung.
