Lampung Governor and Military Commander Join Nationwide TNI Harvest
INFO TEMPO — Lampung Governor Rahmat Mirzani Djausal, together with the Commander of the XXI/Radin Inten Military Resort Command, Major General Kristomei Sianturi, took part in the Simultaneous TNI Grand Harvest in Rejo Basuki Village, Seputih Raman Subdistrict, Central Lampung Regency, on Friday, 17 July 2026. The event was a manifestation of synergy between the TNI and regional government in supporting the acceleration of national food self-sufficiency.
The grand harvest in Lampung formed part of a simultaneous grand harvest at 43 locations across Indonesia, led virtually by President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto from Malang Regency, East Java. Nationally, the grand harvest comprised rice harvesting accompanied by the Indonesian Army at 31 locations, soybean harvesting by the Indonesian Navy at four locations, and sugarcane harvesting accompanied by the Indonesian Air Force at eight locations. The activities formed part of the TNI’s efforts to support food resilience by assisting the agricultural sector in various regions.
In his address, President Prabowo expressed his appreciation for the Integrated TNI Grand Harvest held simultaneously in numerous regions. According to him, food security is not solely the responsibility of the Ministry of Agriculture, but rather a national movement involving every component of the nation.
President Prabowo also stated that the TNI and the National Police (Polri) not only serve to safeguard national defence and security, but must also be present among the people to help address various problems, including supporting increased food production. “I greatly appreciate the spirit of unity, collaboration and mutual cooperation from every component of the nation,” said President Prabowo.
On 16 May 2026, the government held a maize grand harvest together with the National Police. Meanwhile, this TNI Grand Harvest covered rice, soybean and sugarcane commodities. “This shows that the TNI and Polri are not merely guardians of national defence and security, but an inseparable part of the Indonesian people. The TNI and Polri are the children of the people. The TNI and Polri must always stand with the people. The people’s hardships are the hardships of the TNI and Polri,” he said.
Meanwhile, Lampung Governor Rahmat Mirzani said that the involvement of the TNI and Polri in the agricultural sector since the administration of President Prabowo has strengthened the safeguarding of the food sovereignty programme, from the production stage through to post-harvest. This assistance has also ensured that fertiliser distribution runs well, planting schedules are more precise, and the stability of harvest prices is maintained.
“Over the past year and a half, the TNI and Polri have escorted various commodities. No fertiliser has been misappropriated, harvest prices have remained stable, and planting schedules have run more punctually. The TNI and Polri do not take part in planting, but they accompany farmers so that they do not have to go it alone,” he said.
The regional government, he said, also continues to push for improvements to the irrigation network, which has been a problem for decades. “The water problem has persisted for decades. We continue to push for the acceleration of irrigation improvements that have long remained unresolved. Hopefully these efforts will soon bring benefits to farmers,” said Governor Mirza.
