Lampung Governor Rahmat Mirzani Djausal and Pangdam XXI/Radin Inten Major General TNI Kristomei Sianturi participated in the synchronised TNI Harvest in Rejo Basuki Village, Seputih Raman District, Central Lampung Regency, on Friday, 17 July 2026. The activity represents a synergy between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the regional government to support the acceleration of national food self-sufficiency. The harvest in Lampung was part of a nationwide event held at 43 locations across Indonesia, led virtually by President Prabowo Subianto from Malang Regency, East Java. The national harvest involved rice harvesting accompanied by the Army at 31 locations, soybean harvesting by the Navy at four locations, and sugarcane harvesting accompanied by the Air Force at eight locations. The activity is part of the TNI’s efforts to support food security through assistance to the agricultural sector in various regions. In his address, President Prabowo expressed appreciation for the Integrated TNI Harvest held simultaneously across different areas. He stated that food security is not solely the responsibility of the Ministry of Agriculture, but a national movement involving all components of the nation. President Prabowo also said that the TNI and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) not only play a role in safeguarding national defence and security, but must also be present in the community to help address various issues, including supporting increased food production. ‘I greatly appreciate the spirit of unity, collaboration, and mutual cooperation from all components of the nation,’ said President Prabowo. On 16 May 2026, the government held a joint corn harvest with the Polri. Meanwhile, this TNI Harvest covered rice, corn, and soybean commodities. ‘This shows that the TNI and Polri are not only guardians of national defence and security, but also an inseparable part of the Indonesian people. The TNI and Polri are the true sons and daughters of the people. The TNI and Polri must always be with the people. The people’s difficulties are the TNI and Polri’s difficulties,’ he said. Lampung Governor Rahmat Mirzani stated that the involvement of the TNI and Polri in the agricultural sector since President Prabowo’s administration has strengthened the oversight of the food sovereignty programme, from the production stage to post-harvest. This assistance ensures that fertiliser distribution runs well, planting schedules are more precise, and harvest price stability is maintained. ‘Over the past year and a half, the TNI and Polri have overseen various commodities. No fertiliser has been misappropriated, harvest prices remain stable, and planting schedules are more precise. The TNI and Polri do not participate in planting, but they provide assistance so that farmers do not walk alone,’ he said. The Regional Government, he added, also continues to push for improvements to irrigation networks, which have been a problem for decades. ‘Water issues have persisted for decades. We continue to push for the acceleration of irrigation repairs that have not yet been resolved. Hopefully, these efforts will soon benefit farmers,’ said Governor Mirza.
