Lampung gets foreign exchange from EU
BANDARLAMPUNG, Lampung: Lampung province earned US$252.8 million
in foreign exchange from exporting non-oil and gas products to 11
European Union countries in the first semester of this year, a
senior government official said on Wednesday.
This represented a steep increase over the foreign exchange
earnings of the province in the same period last year, which
totaled US$164.3 million, said Suryono, the director of the
Lampung provincial administration's Cooperative, Trade and
Industry Agency.
The non-oil and gas products in question included coffee,
other agrarian and handicraft products.
In total, foreign exchange earnings from all sources by
Lampung province amounted to US$681.7 million, while the total
quantity of goods exported in the first semester of this year
amounted to 2.01 million tons. -- Antara
