Lampung contractor cries foul play

BANDAR LAMPUNG, Lampung: A contractor is suing the head of the Lampung Agency for Population and Transmigration and his entire staff at the local state administrative court, claiming collusion in the way they awarded contracts, Antara reported on Wednesday.

"I have authentic proof. I want justice and that corruption, collusion and nepotism be eliminated," Sumurung Sianturi, director of CV Kharisma, told the news agency.

Judge Siringoringo, who is trying the case, ordered for a stay of execution of a Rp 3 billion project pending the outcome of the trial.

Sianturi, who lost out in many bids from the agency, noted that one particular contractor had won seven bids.

A lawyer representing the defendants said Sianturi lost the bids because his company did not meet the requirements. (04)
