The Lamongan Regency Transportation Agency (Dishub) is preparing to digitalise parking retribution payments through a non-cash system. The Lamongan Regency Government has already identified several parking locations that will implement this new system.

This programme is a follow-up to a partnership between the Lamongan Regency Government and PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (Bank Jatim), Lamongan Branch. The implementation of parking payments using QRIS will begin with a soft launch on Monday, 10 August.

The Regent of Lamongan, Yuhronur Efendi, stated that the digitalisation of parking retribution payments is expected to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of regional original income (PAD) collection. “We have signed a memorandum of understanding with Bank Jatim and the Transportation Agency for the implementation of parking payments using QRIS. The hope is that this digitalisation can increase PAD from the parking retribution sector because the payment system is more accurate, accountable, and provides better service, while also being able to minimise the potential for fraud,” said Yuhronur on Saturday (1/8).

The Head of the Lamongan Regency Transportation Agency, Dianto Hari Wibowo, added that the implementation of non-cash parking payments is part of a transformation in parking service governance to increase transparency, maintain public trust, and protect parking officers from potential misuse. According to Dianto, the system will be applied to approximately 43 parking spots managed by the Transportation Agency in the Lamongan and Babat districts.

“We are optimistic that all officers are ready to support the implementation of this programme. In addition to improving service quality, this system is also expected to minimise the potential for irregularities that could reduce PAD,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Leader of Bank Jatim Lamongan Branch, Bindan Seno Aji, stated that the non-cash payment innovation will make parking retribution transactions faster, easier, and more accurate. “Parking retribution management can also be monitored and evaluated in real time. The implementation will begin with a soft launch on 10 August, accompanied by socialisation to the public and officers. Subsequently, a grand launch will be held after the socialisation period is complete,” he concluded.
