Lamongan Regency Ensures Revocation of Daycare Permits Violating SOP

Lamongan, East Java (ANTARA) -

The Lamongan Regency government is set to revoke operational permits for childcare institutions (daycares) that violate standard operating procedures (SOP) as a measure to prevent child abuse in childcare environments.

The Head of the Women’s Empowerment, Child Protection, and Family Planning Office (DP3AKB) in Lamongan, Aini Mas’idha, affirmed that strict sanctions will be imposed if violations are found, particularly those related to child protection.

“If violations are discovered, especially those involving elements of child abuse, we can recommend the revocation of operational permits,” she stated after inspecting one of the daycares in Lamongan, East Java, on Monday.

She explained that the local government is optimising integrated supervision involving cross-sectoral participation, from the Education Office and Social Services Office to sub-district and village governments.

Additionally, guidance is focused on new institutions, particularly regarding managerial aspects, the quality of human resources (HR), and child care patterns.

Meanwhile, one of the childcare centre managers in Lamongan Sub-district, Tri Nuryantini, welcomed the local government’s supervision as an effort to maintain service quality and child protection.

She acknowledged that cases of child abuse in other areas have led to increased parental concerns about their children’s conditions in local childcare institutions.

“Parents are now more vigilant and intensively monitor their children’s activities, even though we routinely provide daily activity reports,” she said.

The Lamongan Regency government ensures that supervision is conducted continuously to guarantee child safety in daycare environments.
