Lamongan, East Java — The Lamongan Regency Government has distributed 60 three-wheeled vehicles to support the operations of Red and White Village or Sub-district Cooperatives (KDKMP) across 30 villages in the region.

Lamongan Regent Yuhronur Efendi stated that the operational vehicles represent a continuation of efforts to strengthen the KDKMP programme currently being developed at the village level.

“Our message is that these vehicles should be utilised as effectively as possible for KDKMP operations, whether already established or still in the preparation stage,” he said following the symbolic handover at the Lamongan Military Command (Makodim) 0812 in East Java on Friday.

He added that the three-wheeled vehicles are expected to support cooperative business activities and ease service delivery to cooperative members and village residents.

Meanwhile, the Head of Staff of Lamongan Military Command Major Cpm Marsidianto called on village heads and KDKMP managers to continue strengthening the spirit of collective action and mutual cooperation in developing cooperatives.

According to him, cooperatives can serve as a vehicle for village communities to enhance economic activities even in remote areas.

“The spirit of collective action and mutual cooperation must be continuously maintained. Cooperatives are expected to provide tangible benefits to members and contribute to improving village economies,” he said.

As of now, the development of KDKMP in Lamongan has shown positive achievements. A total of 474 cooperatives have been legally registered, with 95 of them already operational. Additionally, 73 retail outlets have been completed, whilst 211 outlets remain under construction.
