Lamongan Launches QRIS Charity Programme to Combat Stunting

The Lamongan Regency Government in East Java has launched the ‘Salam-Q Genting’ programme, a QRIS-based charity initiative designed to support the Gerakan Orang Tua Asuh Cegah Stunting (Foster Parent Movement to Prevent Stunting). The programme was inaugurated during the peak commemoration of the 33rd National Family Day and the 42nd National Children’s Day at the regency hall on Thursday afternoon. Lamongan Regent Yuhronur Efendi stated that this innovation represents a continuation of the Genting programme, which has been adapted to meet the needs for acceleration and digitalisation in aid delivery. He emphasised that national resilience begins with the family, making it crucial to ensure that children grow into a strong, competitive generation with a bright future. The Regent called for strengthened roles in family development to create better national resilience. Head of the Women’s Empowerment, Child Protection and Family Planning Agency, Aini Mas’idha, added that the new QRIS system would replace previous bank transfer methods, making it easier for the public to contribute without a minimum donation amount. She explained that the QRIS codes would be widely distributed to facilitate the success of the foster parent movement, which is specifically tailored to accelerate and digitalise aid delivery to families at risk of stunting in Lamongan.
