Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Chairman of Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Lalu Hadrian Irfani, is committed to continuing to oversee the quality of national education after receiving the legislator award for concern in the world of education at the Koordinatoriat Wartawan Parlemen (KWP) Award 2026.

Lalu Hadrian, as per a statement received in Jakarta on Friday, thanked the parliamentary journalists’ forum for the award. The award is described as a positive initiative to encourage the effectiveness of the people’s representatives’ work.

“The KWP Award is a good step from the journalists’ forum to mobilise our work as people’s representatives, especially in Commission X of the DPR as a working body of the council that fights for improvements in education in the country,” he said.

The education sector legislator emphasised that the award he received is more than just a ceremonial activity, but also an injection of motivation to be more actively involved in society to absorb aspirations.

He also appreciated the role of parliamentary journalists as an “outlet” for information that bridges legislative performance so that it can be known by the public.

He hopes that synergy between the two parties can continue to be enhanced for the sake of transparency and public education. “Synergy between media and parliament continues to run well so that the public is educated about legislative work,” he said.

The KWP Award 2026 was held at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday (16/4), with the theme “Escorting the Struggle, Appreciating Dedication: Together Realising Golden Indonesia”.

This event is a biennial agenda aimed at giving recognition to legislators, senators, and parliamentary work partners who have made real impacts through their legislative and oversight functions.

In this year’s KWP event, there were more than 60 award recipient nominations.
