JAKARTA – Rising demand for fast and flexible distribution has driven growth in long-distance delivery services in Indonesia. Lalamove Indonesia, a leading on-demand delivery and transportation platform, recorded a 47% year-on-year increase in long-distance deliveries during January–April 2026 compared to the same period last year.

This growth reflects an increasing number of businesses relying on flexible delivery services to support operations without investing in their own fleets. Through its long-distance delivery service, Lalamove provides a logistics solution that helps businesses improve operational cost efficiency, from fuel and vehicle maintenance savings to internal fleet management.

‘The growth in long-distance deliveries shows that logistics needs are evolving, not just for instant city deliveries but also for more efficient cross-regional distribution. Lalamove aims to continue as a logistics partner that helps businesses grow through flexible and accessible delivery solutions,’ said Andito B. Prakoso, Managing Director of Lalamove Indonesia.

Lalamove’s internal data shows that 78% of long-distance deliveries fall within the 50-80km range, while 9% cover 80-100km and 13% exceed 100km.

The most frequently used routes include Jakarta-Tangerang, Jakarta-Cikarang, and Jakarta-Bandung. High delivery activity on these routes reflects increasingly dynamic distribution needs in suburban and economic hubs, aligning with rising demand for fast delivery in metropolitan outskirts driven by trade and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) growth.

To support diverse delivery needs, Lalamove offers various vehicle options, including sedans, vans, and pickup trucks. Company data indicates pickup trucks are the most used for long-distance deliveries at 27%, followed by vans (22%) and sedans (21%).

In terms of industries, retail and wholesale sectors are the top users of long-distance delivery services. This trend highlights how businesses increasingly require practical, fast, and flexible logistics solutions to ensure smooth and comfortable cargo distribution.

Angga, a Bekasi-based food and household goods distributor who has used Lalamove since 2022 for daily deliveries to online sellers, highlighted the platform’s crucial role in reducing operational costs. ‘Lalamove is always available whenever I need deliveries, whether within the city or to Bandung. With Lalamove, operations are simpler—just pay for delivery and toll fees, with various vehicle options,’ he said.

In addition to diverse vehicle choices, Lalamove offers an in-app toll payment feature, making cross-regional deliveries easier and more transparent for users.

As business mobility and distribution activities grow across regions, Lalamove remains committed to delivering logistics solutions aligned with market needs while helping businesses enhance operational efficiency amid increasingly dynamic competition. (*
