Lake fiesta in September
WEST LAMPUNG, Lampung: The Danau Ranau festival, the cultural event for the people living in the regency, is being postponed until September because of the earthquake that jolted the area in February. The cultural festivity is usually held at the beginning of the year.
West Lampung regent Hakim Saleh Umpusinga said the festival had been included in the regency's annual cultural programs.
This year's festivities will be simplified, but that does not mean they will lose their meaning, he said, adding that next year's event will be more joyful, Antara reported.
Umpusinga said life has returned to normal since the quake shook their area in Feb. 16, killing more than 200 people. (par)
