The Cheap Food Movement represents a concrete effort to help residents obtain essential goods at more affordable prices. The initiative was launched as a demonstration of concern for the community’s economic situation and to maintain stability in food prices across the Lahat region. Community enthusiasm was evident from early morning as residents arrived to purchase various essential goods.
The initiative featured important commodities including rice, cooking oil, sugar, and other household staples sold at significantly lower prices than market rates. The programme is expected to reduce the burden on residents, particularly low-income families. Additionally, the initiative serves as a strategic step in restraining regional inflation and ensuring food availability for the community.
