The President of the Confederation of All Indonesian Workers’ Unions (KSPSI), Andi Gani Nena Wea, met with labour demonstrators during a protest in front of the House of Representatives (DPR). Andi Gani emphasised that the Labour Protection Law, which has been passed by the DPR, represents a victory for workers.

“Comrades, today is an extraordinary moment in the history of the Indonesian labour struggle. A round of applause for the DPR RI, comrades, it is extraordinary. This is the victory we have been waiting for. Labour protection is truly being made a reality by President Prabramowo Subianto,” said Andi Gani in front of the DPR in Jakarta on Tuesday (6/10/2026).

Furthermore, Andi Gani urged workers to be grateful for the law that is now in effect. He also requested that workers extend their thanks to President Prabowo Subianto.

“So, my friends, we must be grateful. Mr Dasco will also convey several points. We must remain steadfast in our struggle. And let us convey that Indonesian labour expresses its gratitude to President Prabowo Subianto,” he said.

He also expressed his gratitude to the DPR, specifically Commission IX of the DPR. He also appreciated the concern shown by the Chief of National Police, General Suyudi Ario Seto.

“A round of applause, everyone, comrades! The Great Coalition of the Indonesian Labour Struggle will remain loyal to the same line of struggle to safeguard the rights of Indonesian workers. Thank you to Commission IX. Thank you also to the Chief of Police, Mr Suyudi, a round of applause to those present here!” he concluded.
