Labour Minister Yassierli has assured that he will oversee the disbursement of social security rights for the victims of the train accident between the Cikarang Commuter Line and the Argo Bromo Anggrek train in Bekasi on 27 April. It is known that as of Monday, nine out of 16 deceased victims in that train accident have received social security protections from the government. “We will continue to monitor this process until all heirs’ rights are fulfilled without bureaucratic obstacles,” said the Labour Minister in his statement in Jakarta on Tuesday, 5 May 2026. Yassierli explained that the total benefits received by the heirs of the deceased victims include Jaminan Hari Tua (JHT) of approximately Rp197.28 million, Jaminan Kematian (JKM) of Rp42 million, Jaminan Kecelakaan Kerja (JKK) worth Rp2.02 billion, and scholarships for six children with a maximum value of Rp458.5 million. In addition, there are periodic Jaminan Pensiun (JP) benefits. “This is proof that the government is committed to ensuring that social security protection does not stop with workers but continues to the families left behind. We want to ensure that their children’s future remains secure through scholarships,” said Yassierli. The Labour Minister added that of the nine deceased victims who have received compensation, eight are BPJS Ketenagakerjaan participants registered at the Jakarta Gambir Branch Office, Jakarta Salemba, Jakarta Kebon Sirih, Jakarta Ceger, Jakarta Mangga Dua, Grha Jamsostek (DKI Jakarta Regional Office), and one participant at the South Tangerang Branch Office (Banten Regional Office). As of now, compensation has been channelled to the heirs in several stages. On 29 April 2026, compensation was given to the heirs of Nuryati and Nur Ainia Rahmadhynna. The following day, compensation was transferred to the heirs of Adelia Rifani. Then on 4 May 2026, compensation was again channelled to the heirs of Tutik Anitasari, Arinjani Novita Sari, and Ida Nuraida. Meanwhile, for the other three victims, namely Enggar Retno Krisjayanti, Harum Anjarsari, and Vica Acnia Fratiwi, the payment process will be carried out soon after the completion of administrative requirements and confirmation from the heirs. Regarding the status of Ida Nuraida, the government is still conducting further verification to determine the type of benefits to be provided, whether it falls under JKK or JKM.
