JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Ministry of Manpower (Kemenaker) has received 1,590 complaints related to the payment of holiday allowances (THR) in 2026. Of that number, many companies have been reported for not fulfilling their obligations to workers. Labour Minister Yassierli stated that as of now, only 506 complaints have been resolved, while the rest are still in the process of being handled. “Precisely this year, 1,590, with 506 complaints already settled. These have been closed; some that previously hadn’t paid then did so, and others paid partially,” Yassierli said during a working meeting with Commission IX of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) on Thursday (9/4/2026). Therefore, the handling process for complaints requires time as it goes through several stages, from summoning to investigating the reported companies. “All complaints enter the Ministry of Manpower’s complaint channel, then we distribute them to the relevant agencies. They are followed up by supervisors, with processes including summoning, investigation, and so on,” he explained. “For example, last week we conducted a spot check in Semarang Regency, where one company was short by around 10 to 15 percent, and it was paid the next day,” he added. The highest number of complaints comes from Jakarta and West Java, totalling around 1,000. This is followed by Banten with about 200 complaints, and Central Java and East Java each with around 150 complaints. “Insya Allah, in the next meeting, we will report further progress,” he concluded.
