Labour Minister reviews sharing of internship allowance contributions for National Internship participants

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Labour Minister Yassierli stated that he is currently reviewing proposals regarding the contribution to the allowance for National Internship participants, to be shared between the government and partner companies organising the programme.

“We are reviewing ways to involve companies more actively, so there are already proposals that the allowance should include a shared contribution from the companies, although not dominantly,” said the Labour Minister during the hybrid closing of the National Internship 2025 Phase I in Jakarta on Friday.

Further, he explained that this consideration follows the intensive mentoring provided by companies to the participants, which he deemed quite measurable.

“This is being reviewed and prepared by us, because some companies are indeed intensive in mentoring our internship participants, seriously assigning projects, with daily progress and weekly progress. That’s extraordinary,” said the Labour Minister.

Meanwhile, the National Coordinator of the University Graduate Internship Programme (Head of Barenbang) of the Ministry of Manpower, Anwar Sanusi, stated that the implementation of the National Internship Phase I showed positive developments.

“Both in terms of participant engagement, industry partner commitment, and the learning outcomes achieved,” said Anwar.

In the subsequent phases, he said the Ministry of Manpower can continue to improve the quality of implementation, expand partnerships with industry, and adjust to the dynamic labour market needs.

A total of 14,952 participants have completed the National Internship Phase I on 19 April 2026.

Participants who complete the six-month programme will receive an internship certificate, while those who participate for more than three months but less than six months will receive a certificate of participation.

For participants, these documents are important as initial provisions to demonstrate experience and work readiness more convincingly.
