Labour Minister: Indonesian President to Deliver Gifts for Workers on May Day 2026

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Labour Minister Yassierli has revealed that Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will deliver several gifts for workers during this year’s Labour Day or May Day commemoration.

“The President will later convey several gifts for our worker and labourer friends. We shall wait and see,” Yassierli stated in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He mentioned that regarding preparations for May Day, which falls on 1 May 2026, the President will attend alongside more than 200,000 workers at the National Monument (Monas) in Jakarta.

“Regarding preparations for May Day tomorrow at Monas. The President will attend, God willing, along with more than 200,000 workers. From what I hear, the committee consists of friends from labour unions and worker syndicates,” he said.

For information, KSPSI President Andi Gani Nena Wea stated that President Prabowo Subianto will attend the Labour Day or May Day commemoration event at the National Monument (Monas) in Central Jakarta on Friday (1/5).

He explained that the May Day event will commence at 8:00 AM Western Indonesia Time, with an estimated 211,000 workers attending.

He noted that the hundreds of thousands of workers hail from various regions and labour confederations.

According to him, shortly before 8:00 AM Western Indonesia Time, President Prabowo will arrive at Monas and will begin delivering the state address at 8:30 AM Western Indonesia Time.

The event will conclude at 11:00 AM Western Indonesia Time as it enters Friday prayer time. He assured that the committee has prepared for Friday prayer needs for the workers participating in the action.

Andi Gani stated that Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto personally designed the T-shirt for the May Day (Labour Day) commemoration event on Friday (1/5).
