Labour Minister Collaborates with BP Tapera to Design Quality and Strategic Housing for Workers

Jakarta – Indonesia’s Minister of Labour, Yassierli, is set to strengthen synergy with the People’s Housing Savings Management Board (BP Tapera) to realise a quality housing programme for workers and labourers.

“The Ministry of Labour is ready to assist BP Tapera in comprehensively remapping programme requirements, ranging from funding amounts, overall design, location, to housing preferences of workers,” Yassierli stated on Saturday, 28 February 2026.

He noted that the ministry also supported BP Tapera’s socialisation activities across 10 locations in the previous year. According to him, there remains significant potential that BP Tapera can continue to optimise.

Consequently, the Ministry of Labour is encouraging BP Tapera to expand partnerships with various stakeholders, so that workers’ aspirations for the programme can be genuinely realised.

Yassierli stated that in 2025, the worker and labourer segment became the largest group in BP Tapera’s programme achievements.

“Alhamdulillah, based on 2025 achievements, the largest participant segment comes from the labour sector,” said Yassierli.

However, he continues to encourage workers who have not yet benefited from the programme to optimise their participation.

On another note, he also encouraged cross-ministerial and inter-agency collaboration to realise quality and affordable housing for workers. One avenue is through a Committee Meeting regarding the implementation of BP Tapera’s 2026 programme and activities.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Minister of Housing and Spatial Planning Maruarar Sirait, Acting Head and Vice Chair of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Board of Commissioners Friderica Widyasari Dewi, and BP Tapera leadership.
