Labour Leaders Praise Police Chief for Labour Affairs Desk: Extraordinary
Several labour union leaders conveyed this during the International Labour Day action in front of President Prabowo Subianto, the Police Chief, and cabinet members at Monas, Central Jakarta, on Friday (1/5/2026). “One more thing that’s not yet, Sir, the labour affairs desk. We feel that it also greatly helps us. Thank you to Mr Police Chief, thank you to all the Ministers and the Red and White Cabinet,” said President of the Confederation of All-Indonesian Labour Unions (KSBSI) Elly Rosita Silaban. President of the Confederation of All-Indonesian Workers’ Unions (KSPSI) Andi Gani Nena Wea expressed similar appreciation to the Police Chief. According to him, the establishment of the desk represents Polri’s attention to labour issues. “I convey my thanks to Mr Police Chief for the labour affairs desk and the extraordinary attention,” he said. As is known, the Labour Affairs Desk is a complaint and consultation forum established by Polri to handle industrial relations disputes, employment problems, and mediation of cases such as layoffs or workers’ rights.
