Additionally, Elly touched on the Labour Law. According to her, workers greatly need regulations on contract processing and outsourcing, as well as protection from all forms of violence against workers in the workplace.

Elly also hopes that President Prabowo Subianto will join the workers. “I hope that every year during your leadership, you must be together with us,” she said.

The same sentiment regarding the Labour Desk was expressed by the President of the Indonesian Confederation of Trade Unions, Said Iqbal. He thanked Deputy Speaker of the DPR Sufmi Dasco Ahmad and Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo for the formation of the desk.

“Mr Sufmi Dasco Ahmad and Mr Police Chief, we thank you for the establishment of the Labour Desk,” he stated.

As is known, the Labour Desk is a complaint and consultation forum established by the National Police to handle industrial relations disputes, labour problems, and mediation of cases such as layoffs or workers’ rights.
