Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto has officially inaugurated Mohammad Jumhur Hidayat, Chairman General of the All-Indonesian Confederation of Trade Unions (KSPSI), as Minister of Environment (LH) during a ceremony at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday.

Jumhur’s appointment as Minister of Environment/Head of the Environmental Control Agency (BPLH) was carried out based on Presidential Decree No. 51/P on the Dismissal and Appointment of Ministers and Deputy Ministers of the Merah Putih Cabinet for the 2024-2029 Period.

“I swear by Allah that I will be loyal to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and will carry out all laws and regulations as straightforwardly as possible in service to the nation and state. That in carrying out my duties, I will uphold the ethics of the position, work to the best of my ability, with full responsibility,” said President Prabowo Subianto, followed by Jumhur.

Jumhur was inaugurated as Minister of Environment, replacing Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, who was also inaugurated on the same day as Deputy Minister Coordinator for Food Affairs.

Following the oath-taking, Jumhur and President Prabowo signed the minutes as part of the inauguration proceedings. The process then continued with President Prabowo and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka shaking hands with Jumhur and his family.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and several ministers of the Merah Putih Cabinet, including Coordinating Minister for Politics and Security Djamari Chaniago, Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono.

Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Roeslani, Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid.

Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces General Agus Subiyanto, Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Nezar Patria, and academic Rocky Gerung.
