Labour Demonstration at DPR Today, Police Deploy 1,948 Personnel and Prepare Traffic Rerouting

JAKARTA – The Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Metal Workers’ Federation (DPP FSPMI) will hold a demonstration in front of the DPR/MPR building in Senayan on Thursday, 16 April 2026, at 10:00 WIB. The Public Relations Sub-Section Head of the Central Jakarta Metro Police Resort, First Inspector Erlyn Sumantri, stated that 1,948 police personnel have been deployed to secure the event. She explained that traffic rerouting around the demonstration site will be situational, adjusted according to the number of participants present. Residents are advised to use alternative routes during the action. “FSPMI will hold a pre-May Day action on 16 April 2026 in front of the House of Representatives,” said Iqbal during an online press conference on Monday, 6 April 2026.
