Labour Day 2026 on 1 May: Odd-Even System Suspended, All Vehicles Free to Pass

JAKARTA – The vehicle restriction under the odd-even system in Jakarta will not apply on Friday (1/5/2026), which coincides with the national holiday for Labour Day 2026. This information was conveyed by the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency through its official Instagram account @dishubdkijakarta. With the suspension of the regulation, all four-wheeled or larger vehicles are free to pass through roads typically covered by the odd-even system, without being restricted by number plates. This policy refers to the Governor’s Regulation (Pergub) of DKI Jakarta No. 88 of 2019. Article 3 paragraph (3) states that the odd-even system is not implemented on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays designated by Presidential Decree. Nevertheless, road users are still advised to maintain order and comply with applicable traffic signs. This is important to anticipate potential congestion on several major roads that are expected to remain busy during the national holiday.
