The Grand Coalition of the Indonesian Labour Struggle has voiced its support for President Prabowo Subianto’s agenda to take firm action and eradicate all corruption cases in Indonesia.

Daeng Wahidin, President of the Indonesian Muslim Workers’ Brotherhood (PPMI-KBMI), stated that the labour movement stands behind the President’s anti-corruption agenda. This stance was conveyed in response to recent political dynamics and law enforcement developments.

“We support President Prabowo in thoroughly resolving all forms of these issues that have been exposed to the public,” Daeng said in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He added that this commitment aligns with the President’s speech during the National Cooperative Day commemoration, where Prabowo emphasised a war against corruption. “We from the grand coalition fully support President Prabowo Subianto in eradicating corruption, investigating corruption cases to the root, and fighting oligarchy. The guilty must be punished,” he asserted.

Echoing this sentiment, Mirah Sumirat, President of the All-Indonesia Workers’ Union Association (ASPIRASI), stressed the importance of synergy among law enforcement agencies. She argued that sectoral egos or inter-agency conflicts would only weaken the fight against corruption.

“We firmly request that the TNI, Polri, and the Attorney General’s Office maintain their solidity and cohesion. Workers and the people need clean, transparent, and fair law enforcement for healthy investment and worker protection,” Mirah said.

The coalition also urged the Indonesian National Police (Polri) to intensify the eradication of corruption and illegal levies that still occur in the industrial sector. According to Mirah, such illicit practices not only harm the business climate but also directly impact workers by potentially worsening company finances, which can ultimately lead to layoffs.
