La Ode Saiful announces candidacy for Kosgoro 1957 chairmanship at National Congress
Jakarta (ANTARA) - La Ode Safiul Akbar, Chairman of the Collective Leadership (PPK) of Kosgoro 1957, has declared his candidacy for the organisation’s chairmanship at the Fifth Grand Congress (Mubes V) scheduled for June 2026 in Jakarta.
“I am committed to re-rooting Kosgoro 1957 as a working organisation in line with its historical purpose and inherited values,” La Ode Safiul Akbar said during his declaration at Ancol on Sunday.
As a figure from the business world, La Ode Saiful believes that a strong organisation is one that remains firmly rooted in its origins.
“It is the roots that provide strength and nourish the organisation’s tree, bearing fruit for its members and wider ecosystem,” he added.
He plans to address global competition, technological disruption, economic inequality, cadre development crises, and rapid social change as challenges in managing both human and natural resources.
He said this is highly relevant for Kosgoro 1957, which was originally established to help manage a newly independent nation and tackle the challenges of a young republic.
He also urged all cadres to ensure Kosgoro 1957 is not merely a historical memory but an active presence in everyday life.
“It should be a grand home for productive work, where ideologically strong cadres are nurtured, work concretely, and fight for Indonesia,” he said.
He added that Kosgoro 1957 must be a solution to every challenge and secure the future.
“This can be achieved by preserving roots, understanding the times, and preparing the next generation,” he said.
Previously, Kosgoro 1957, the Golkar Party-affiliated mass organisation, has been preparing for the Fifth Grand Congress (Mubes V) scheduled for June 2026 in Jakarta.
“The plenary meeting held on 28 April 2026 was a crucial milestone in ensuring the organisation’s readiness for the event,” said Dave Akbarshah Fikarno Laksono, Chairman of Kosgoro 1957, in Jakarta on Saturday.
He stated that thorough preparations underscored the commitment to conducting the 2026 Mubes V in a democratic and transparent manner.
He added that the plenary meeting also stressed that all decision-making processes would follow the musyawarah and mufakat (consensus) mechanism.
“The musyawarah and mufakat process upholds the organisation’s democratic values,” he said.
