Jakarta (ANTARA) – La Ode Safiul Akbar has officially become the first candidate to register for the Chairman position in the Fifth General Meeting (Mubes V) of the Kesatuan Organisasi Serbaguna Gotong Royong (Kosgoro) 1957, set to take place in Ancol in June 2026. “Bung La Ode with humility and courage has firmly decided to be the first candidate for Chairman in this Mubes V,” said H. Zainuddin, Chairman of La Ode Safiul Akbar’s campaign team, in Jakarta on Saturday. He stated that this step was taken to fulfil the responsibilities of meeting the expectations of cadres in the regions, following strong aspirations received from Regional Collective Councils (PDK) across various areas. He added that La Ode’s candidacy is expected to bring fresh energy and strong momentum to the organisation internally. He emphasised that the endorsement from senior figure and Golkar Party’s Council of Experts Chairman, Agung Laksono, is a strong signal that the party’s leadership has approved La Ode’s candidacy. “With Pak Agung Laksono’s endorsement, it is confirmed that Golkar Party’s senior officials are fully supportive,” he said. He added that the campaign team is scheduling a special meeting between La Ode Safiul Akbar and Golkar Party’s General Chairman, Bahlil Lahadalia, to align Kosgoro 1957’s future vision and mission. “The Kosgoro Chairman will report directly to General Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia due to the overwhelming support from PDK,” he said. Previously, La Ode Safiul Akbar stated his commitment to quickly mobilise and focus on revitalising grassroots people’s economic pillars and strengthening organisational consolidation. Economic empowerment will be achieved by improving welfare in every region through concrete programs, including establishing and activating cooperatives nationwide. La Ode pledged to personally visit each region to meet PDK officials face-to-face, gather aspirations, and ensure the organisation runs smoothly in unison. Meanwhile, Kosgoro Vice Chairman and Campaign Team Deputy Chairman, Yan Pieter Pangaribuan, said La Ode’s inclusive and humble nature is a strong magnet capable of uniting regional voices. “Given Brother La Ode’s track record and humility, we are confident that PDK across Indonesia will unite in full support for him to lead Kosgoro 1957 during the 2026-2031 term,” he said.
