La Ode Ready to Lead Kosgoro 1957 into the Transformational Era
La Ode Safiul Akbar is determined to transform Kosgoro 1957, one of Golkar’s founding organisations, into the digital era. He says that the leadership period from 2026 to 2031 will be an era of transformation for Kosgoro 1957. In addition, his position as Chairman of Golkar’s Central Executive Board for Labour and Profession gives him cross-sectoral insight. ‘The leadership period 2026-2031 will be the era of transformation for Kosgoro 1957,’ La Ode said in a written statement on Saturday, 23 May 2016. His main vision is to make Kosgoro 1957 a bridge between the government, businesspeople, and the general public. Given that Kosgoro 1957 emerged from the cooperative movement, he also plans to revive the spirit of that economy through digitalisation. La Ode aims to build a modern cooperative ecosystem that goes beyond savings and loans, and also serves as a business incubator for young cadres. ‘Kosgoro 1957 cadres must be problem solvers for society, not merely political machines during elections,’ he said. He stated his readiness to stand for the post of Chairman of Kosgoro 1957. La Ode Safiul Akbar emphasised that he is prepared to bear the weight of a large mandate. He is confident that his experience in bridging the gap between regional and central authorities, along with his international experience and his track record in party consolidation, will be assets to embracing all elements of Kosgoro 1957 from Sabang to Merauke. With the target period of 2026-2031, La Ode Safiul Akbar wants Kosgoro 1957 to be seen not only as a strategic partner of the government, but also as a locomotive for regional economic self‑reliance. ‘The momentum of the upcoming Mubes will be a proving ground for whether millennial and senior cadres can unite under the command of this Southeast’s Fighter,’ he said. La Ode Safiul Akbar has set a large target: to return Kosgoro 1957 to its original purpose as a versatile organisation that promotes welfare, without losing its political sharpness as one of Golkar’s founding pillars.
