KY Yet to Receive Complaint from Nadiem's Camp Regarding Chromebook Case Verdict

The Judicial Commission (KY) has opened the door for parties wishing to report the judges in the corruption case concerning the procurement of Chromebook-based laptops and Chrome Device Management (CDM) that implicated former Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, Nadiem Anwar Makarim. The KY invites anyone dissatisfied with the judge’s verdict to file a complaint.

KY Deputy Chairperson Desmihardi stated that the commission has the authority to receive and investigate alleged violations of the Judges’ Code of Ethics and Conduct (KEPPH). The KY is ready to follow up once a report is officially submitted.

“We are opening the door for any reports related to alleged KEPPH violations committed by judges when examining and deciding a case,” Desmihardi said after attending a limited cross-sector discussion on the supervision and implementation of the Sexual Violence Crime Law (TPKS) within the criminal justice system in Jakarta, Tuesday (30/6/2026).

Desmihardi stated that the KY would review the report to ascertain whether there is an alleged KEPPH violation. “Every report we receive, whether it is a monitoring report or a report of an alleged KEPPH violation, will certainly be followed up,” he said.

However, Desmihardi noted that as of 30 June 2026, the KY had not received any complaints concerning the judges who tried the Chromebook case. “But regarding the report, there isn’t one yet, we have no report,” he said.

Regardless, Desmihardi confirmed that the KY monitored the proceedings of Nadiem’s trial up to the reading of the verdict on Tuesday (30/6/2026), as the case has attracted public attention.

“Regarding Nadiem, of course, in accordance with our authority, we will also carry out—we have carried out monitoring from the beginning, we are monitoring,” said Desmihardi.
