Kuwaiti Military Detects 32 Drones Launched by Iran

Istanbul (ANTARA) - The Kuwaiti military stated that Iran launched 32 unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) towards vital installations in the country on Thursday, amid rising escalation of tensions between Tehran and the United States.

“The drones were successfully intercepted and dealt with,” said Kuwaiti Ministry of Defence Spokesman Saud Al-Atwan in a statement.

Debris from the intercepted Iranian drones caused material damage, but no casualties were reported.

The Kuwaiti military affirmed that it would remain on alert and ready to strengthen national security and protect the safety of its citizens and residents.

The Iranian military, in the early hours of Thursday local time, stated that it had carried out attacks against United States radar and air defence assets in Kuwait and Bahrain as part of its response to American strikes on Tehran.

Tensions between the United States and Iran have increased in recent days in connection with the Strait of Hormuz.

Both sides have continued to launch attacks at each other despite an earlier memorandum of understanding, mediated by Pakistan, intended to end the conflict and achieve a lasting peace agreement.
