Kuwait International Airport became a target of an attack by several drones, which caused material damage to the airport. The Public Authority for Civil Aviation of Kuwait stated that there were no fatalities in the attack.

“The incident was handled in accordance with emergency plans that have been in place since the beginning of the crisis, with full coordination with relevant authorities,” said the authority’s spokesman, Abdullah al-Rajhi, to Kuwait’s government news agency KUNA, according to Al Arabiya, Thursday (12 March 2026).

Al-Rajhi, according to KUNA, affirmed the authority’s commitment to taking all necessary measures to ensure the security and safety of civil aviation in Kuwait.

On 28 February, the United States and Israel launched attacks against Iran, resulting in the death of its supreme leader and triggering conflict across the Middle East.

Tehran has responded with drone and missile strikes throughout the region, including attacks that have struck neighbouring countries.

Iran has bombarded US and Israeli military bases in the area, as well as launched attacks against neighbouring countries since the beginning of Israeli and US attacks against targets in Iran last month.

On Wednesday (11 March), the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) promised relentless retaliation for the ongoing US and Israeli attacks. The Quds Force vowed to “open the gates of fire for them and will not stop until the enemy is defeated.”

In a statement, the Quds Force described the US-Israeli attacks against Iran that began on 28 February as violations of international law and humanitarian values.

They emphasised that the attacks resulted in the death of the Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei as well as several senior Iranian officials and Iranian civilians.

The Quds Force, which is the most renowned elite unit of the IRGC, vowed: “We will open the gates of fire for them and will not stop until the enemy is defeated.”

The statement warned that “the enemy must know that the days of their comfort have ended, and that they will not be safe anywhere in the world – even in their own homes.”

“We will not stop fighting until global arrogance and international Zionism are eliminated, and that we will take revenge on behalf of the oppressed and the martyrs from the oppressors and the arrogant.”
