Kuwait Condemns Latest Iranian Attack on Its Territory as a Violation of Sovereignty

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned new Iranian attacks within its territory, viewing the strikes as a blatant violation of its sovereignty.

“Expressing condemnation and strong rejection of… the recurrence of Iran’s heinous aggression against the State of Kuwait, the latest occurring at dawn today, as a blatant violation of its sovereignty,” stated the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement, as reported by AFP on Sunday (28/06/2026).

The Ministry also warned that such attacks undermine ongoing regional and global de-escalation efforts and “constitute a direct challenge to the international will supporting this path.”

Furthermore, the Ministry asserted that the State of Kuwait “is fully entitled to take all necessary measures to maintain its sovereignty, preserve its security and stability, and protect its people and residents within its territory.”

US Military Facilities in Kuwait Attacked

Previously, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) carried out attacks on US military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain. The strikes were framed as retaliation for US attacks on Iranian territory, with warnings that further aggression would be met with a ‘devastating response’.

As reported by AFP on Sunday (2lag/06/2026), both Iran and the United States have accused each other of violating a fragile ceasefire. These accusations have intensified negotiations aimed at ending the conflict in the Middle East.

“The Revolutionary Guard destroyed eight vital US military facilities at Ali al-Salem base in Kuwait and at the Fifth Fleet naval base in Salman Port, Bahrain,” the IRGC stated in a communiqué.

“Any enemy aggression, under any pretext, even against insignificant targets… will be met with destruction,” the IRGC statement added.
