Kuwait Condemns Latest Iranian Attack on Its Territory as a Violation of Sovereignty
Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned a new Iranian attack on its territory, deeming it a flagrant violation of its sovereignty. “Expressing strong condemnation and rejection of… the recurrence of Iranian aggression against the State of Kuwait, the latest of which occurred at dawn today, as a flagrant violation of its sovereignty,” the ministry said in a statement. The ministry also warned that such attacks undermine ongoing regional and global de-escalation efforts and “represent a direct challenge to the international will supporting this path.” It further stated that Kuwait “reserves its full right to take all necessary measures to preserve its sovereignty, maintain its security and stability, and protect its people and residents on its territory.” Earlier, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard carried out an attack on US military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain. The attack was in retaliation for US strikes on Iranian territory, with a warning that further aggression would be met with a “devastating response.” Iran and the United States have each accused the other of violating a fragile ceasefire, tightening negotiations aimed at ending the war in the Middle East. “The Revolutionary Guard destroyed eight critical US military facilities at the Ali al-Salem base in Kuwait and at the Fifth Fleet naval base in Salman Port in Bahrain,” the IRGC said in a statement. “Any enemy aggression, under any pretext, even against an insignificant target… will be met with destruction,” the Revolutionary Guard’s statement added.
