Kuwait backs KL for Asiad bid
KUALA LUMPUR (AFP): A leading Kuwaiti sports official on
Wednesday backed the Malaysian capital to host the 2006 Asian
Games, Bernama news agency reported.
In a report from Kuwait City, it quoted the Kuwait National
Olympic Committee president as saying Kuala Lumpur had the edge
over the three other cities bidding to host the event.
"It does not have to spend much more money to build sports
infrastructure because it already has everything to offer,"
Sheikh Ahmad al-Fahad al-Sabah told the Kuala Lumpur games
bidding committee.
