Tenggarong, East Kalimantan — The Kutai Kartanegara District Government in East Kalimantan has expanded facilities at Dayaku Raja General Hospital (RSUD Dayaku Raja) located in Kota Bangun District, an upstream area of the region, to improve healthcare services for residents in outlying areas.

The facility expansion includes the operation of a new building and medical equipment upgrades at the Type D hospital.

“Our shared hope is that essential healthcare services, particularly the four basic healthcare services, can be completed at this hospital, so patients no longer need to be referred to hospitals in Tenggarong or Samarinda,” said Kutai Kartanegara District Head Aulia Rahman Basri in Tenggarong on Friday.

The four essential services are internal medicine, child health, surgery, and obstetrics and gynaecology.

The district government, he continued, is committed to acquiring all necessary equipment for Dayaku Raja Hospital, including human resources such as specialist doctors.

The district head also expressed gratitude that Dayaku Raja Hospital recorded Regional General Service Agency (BLUD) revenue of Rp14 billion in 2024 and Rp21 billion in 2025.

“We hope that going forward, this hospital will continue to improve its services and facilities so that revenue can increase to Rp35 billion,” he said.

Earlier, when inaugurating the new building at Dayaku Raja Hospital on Wednesday (11 March), the district head noted that the new structure is already representative of modern standards.

“However, the magnificence of this new building is meaningless if it is not accompanied by improved service to all members of the community who use the hospital’s services,” he said.

Nevertheless, he expressed confidence that the culture and practices of staff and healthcare workers at Dayaku Raja Hospital consistently provide excellent service, as everyone is aware that service is the most important priority.
