Kustomfest’s ‘High Octane’ theme aims to accelerate Indonesia’s custom industry
Indonesia’s custom scene needs a spark in the form of high-octane fuel to fan its enthusiasm and fuel optimism among custom industry players.
Sleman (ANTARA) — Indonesia’s largest custom culture event, Indonesian Kustom Kulture Festival (Kustomfest), will return under the theme “High Octane” at the Jogja Expo Center (JEC) in Yogyakarta on 10–11 October 2026. The event is expected to support the national custom industry.
“The ‘High Octane’ theme was chosen to uphold the scene’s spirit and inspire custom industry players in Indonesia to keep accelerating amid the economic slowdown,” Kustomfest director Lulut Wahyudi said in Sleman on Thursday.
Lulut said the economic slowdown and the influx of custom parts made by large-scale foreign manufacturers posed serious challenges that could erode the presence of local home-based custom businesses.
Kustomfest therefore aims to offer ideas, new perspectives and strategies to help industry players survive and grow.
“Indonesia’s custom scene needs a spark in the form of high-octane fuel to fan its enthusiasm and fuel optimism among custom industry players,” he said.
Over its 15 years, Kustomfest has become a platform for collaboration and a showcase for local products—from parts to apparel—that have been able to reach international markets.
Alongside its automotive displays, the annual event also has a social mission. In collaboration with BAZNAS, Kustomfest will organise an environmental campaign focused on tackling forest fires. To coincide with Yogyakarta’s 270th anniversary, it will also hold the “Ride For YK” initiative with the Yogyakarta City Government to help renovate homes belonging to low-income residents.
Featured programmes include the Kustom Bike Show, Hot Rod & Kustom Car Show, Flat Track Race, Art Island and Body Art Show, as well as exhibitions by the FXR Paradise, SR Panic and All 3 Wheeler communities.
The event will also welcome international builders and judges from the United States and Japan, including Yuichi Yoshizawa of Custom Works Zon, Makoto Watanabe of Chopper Journal and Matt Talajowski of Sugarbaby Cycles.
Through the Kustomfest–Indonesian Attack programme, some of the best works by Indonesian custom enthusiasts will be taken to Japan for the 34th Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show 2026 in December.
Kustomfest 2026’s entertainment line-up will feature Indonesian bands including Seringai, Kelompok Penerbang Roket, Morfem, Rebellion Rose, Black Horses, Serigala Malam and D.P.M.B.
Tickets cost Rp100,000 per day when bought online through the Artatix platform, and Rp130,000 per day at the venue. Each ticket buyer will have the chance to win a travel package to the 34th Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show in Japan.
