Kustomfest to Showcase Local Builders’ Work in Japan
Jakarta (ANTARA) – Kustomfest 2026 is creating an opportunity for Indonesian builders to demonstrate their capabilities overseas through its Indonesian Attack programme, which will take them to the Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show 2026 in Japan in early December.
Running since 2017, the programme has provided a route for local builders to introduce their custom work to the international custom community. This year, some of the best entries at Kustomfest will have the chance to appear at the event, which is being held for the 34th time.
Kustomfest director Lulut Wahyudi said Indonesia’s custom industry was facing challenges from a sluggish economy and the arrival of mass-produced custom components from China. These conditions could put pressure on small-scale businesses that rely on creativity, skills and distinctive production.
Alongside Indonesian Attack, Kustomfest will feature the Kustom Bike Show and Hot Rod & Kustom Car Show, showcasing selected vehicles.
Visitors will also be able to watch flat-track competitions, helmet customisation, vehicle painting and various community activities.
Amid market competition, the opportunity to exhibit in Japan is one way of introducing local builders’ capabilities to an international audience.
The next challenge, however, is to ensure businesses remain sustainable and expand their markets so that this creativity can grow into an industrial strength.
Now in its 15th year, the festival brings together builders, communities and creative industry players producing a range of goods, from vehicle components to high-quality apparel.
