Kurdish forces dissolved, merged into Syrian state institutions
The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), led by the Kurdish ethnic group, have officially been dissolved and fully integrated into Syrian government institutions. “I announce the dissolution of the SDF, the Kurdish Autonomous Administration, and all military and civilian institutions under their auspices,” said SDF commander Mazloum Abdi on Tuesday (25/8), as quoted from a Syria TV broadcast report. “All are now fully integrated into the institutions of the Syrian state,” Abdi continued. He also announced the end of the SDF’s primary mission and the start of a transition process “from defensive efforts to participation in Syria’s development.”
