Kurasu Enters Plaza Senayan, METRO Introduces First F&B Tenant in Three Decades

The arrival of Kurasu marks a new milestone, as it is the first time in more than three decades that the area has featured a food and beverage (F&B) tenant. Kurasu has officially become the first F&B tenant in the Metro Plaza Senayan area. The introduction event was also attended by CEO of Trans Digital Lifestyle Group, Putri Tanjung, as well as the music collective Diskoria. Kurasu is known for bringing the philosophy of coffee unique to Kyoto, Japan, which emphasises quality, simplicity, and a comprehensive experience in enjoying coffee. This concept is now combined with a broader culinary experience at its newest outlet. From a product perspective, Kurasu offers a variety of drink options, ranging from hand-drip coffee and classic espressos such as black and white, to milk-based drinks like dirty latte and mocha. In addition, there are artisanal matcha menus, including matcha latte and combinations of matcha with espresso. Not only that, there is also a range of food menus with Japanese and fusion touches, such as curry bread, salt bread, sandwiches like tuna kimchi grilled cheese and smoked salmon, as well as omusubi with fillings of wagyu or tuna. Managing Partner of Kurasu, Hadi Ismanto, described this opening as a historic moment, not only for Kurasu but also for Metro Plaza Senayan. “This is a very special place because in the last 30 years, there has never been an F&B in this building. And thanks to Mbak Putri, the Metro team, and the Plaza Senayan team, we can be the first brand here,” he said. Putri Tanjung emphasised that they want to provide a more complete ecosystem for visitors. “We want to create a good ecosystem. Metro is a shopping place for all generations, and now we want to complement it with other experiences,” she explained. The entry of Kurasu is also part of Metro’s transformation strategy. Now, Metro is not only positioned as a shopping centre but also as a lifestyle space targeting various generations. The Kurasu outlet at Metro Plaza Senayan is scheduled to open to the public on Saturday (25/4), with operating hours from 07:00 to 22:00 WIB every day.
