Kupang DPRD Member Reports Ex-Wife to Police

Member of the Kupang City DPRD, Mokrianus Imanuel Lay (44), has reported his ex-wife, Ferry Anggi Widodo (38), to the police regarding alleged car theft. The report was filed at the Kota Lama Police Station, Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), on Saturday (16/5/2026).

“This is a case of car theft involving marital assets between Mokris Lay and his ex-wife. His wife sold a Honda CRV without confirming with Mokris Lay,” said Kota Lama Police Chief AKP Zainal Afirin Abdurahman, to detikBali, Saturday.

Arifin explained that the case began when the Hanura party politician returned home after checking on his child at Stela Gracia School on Thursday (14/5/2026). He had received news that his child had been moved by Anggi to a school he was not aware of.

While driving along Jalan Ade Irma II, Kelapa Lima District, Kupang City, Mokris saw a car with license plate DH 1172 HY, which was often used by Anggi, parked at one of the residents’ houses.

Mokris then asked the homeowner about the origin of the car. However, the homeowner stated that the car had been purchased outright by his wife from Anggi.

After that, Mokris immediately left the location and went to the Kota Lama Police Station to file a police report. According to Arifin, in this case, Mokris suffered losses of around IDR 350 million.

“The case is still under investigation. We will continue to handle it for further legal proceedings,” said Arifin.

Meanwhile, Ferry Anggi Widodo has not responded to requests for confirmation from detikBali, either through messages or WhatsApp calls, regarding the case.

Previously, Mokris Lay was acquitted by the panel of judges at the Kupang District Court. Mokris was found not guilty of neglecting his wife and two children as alleged by the prosecutor.

“The defendant, Mokrianus Imanuel Lay alias Mokris, has not been proven legally and convincingly for alternative charges one to three,” said the panel of judges during the trial on Tuesday (21/4/2026).
